After the bbq they had inflatables for the kids to play on. Ella and Seth had a great time. There were several little girls Ella's age and she was excited to play with them. While in the bounce house she exclaimed "Mommy Mommy I'm making so many friends!" So I asked "Oh wonderful what are their names?" to which she gave a blank stare and turned to the girl next to her and asked "What's your name?"
By far the biggest hit was the batting practice inflatable (Yes, pun intended) . You would set the ball on the air hole and it would hover there waiting to be hit. And it was hit, a lot.
Once Seth figured out that he could put the ball on, it became a team sport. This discovery did not stop him from demanding a turn at bat though.
Our little natural athlete took right to this game. He did well at hitting the ball but sometimes forgot which direction to hit it.
Here's Dad giving him some pointers.
This was supposed to be a pitching game. It pretty much became a stand right next to the hole and toss it in game. Ella is such a great big sister, usually.
It turns out he didn't need much help after all.
Seth was dying to go in the bounce house and Ella agreed to "supervise" him. Ella understands all about supervision. She knows at Grandma Judi's house she has to be supervised when playing with the harp or climbing the stair railing. Once while we were visiting she yelled "Mom come supervise me or I will have to supervise myself!"
Finally we actually went to watch a little of the baseball game and they won. Ella was a bit scared of their Owl mascot and so was I to be honest. He was constantly flailing around and making innapropriate gestures. Not impressed. Ella told us that "we need to call Uncle JJ and put him in jail" Uncle John is a Utah county prosecutor.
While we were in Provo we had to get some good Grandma time in. When we walked in the door Seth exclaimed "Gamaw! bubbles!" We don't know where he got the idea but kudos to Grandma for being prepared for anything. Yes, Ella is still in her PJ's.
As you can see they loved chasing the bubbles and as Ella put it "making friends with them".
I just love the looks on their faces. Pure enjoyment.
Ella tried her hand at bubble making. She did an excellent job.
Since they were already sticky and gross from the bubbles we let them play in the sand.
I can't believe that Seth still hasn't learned that sand is not delicious. He puts a little in for a taste and then spends 10 minutes spitting it out.
Seth, the one man wrecking crew! I would make little sand castles, away from Ella's, just so Seth could squish them. He had a great time and it kept the peace.
