Everyday Adventures

I know everyone loves their children and thinks they are amazing but ours really are. To prove it there are two grandma's that will swear to this.

Here is Ella in her tutu that her best friend Kaylie gave her. She wore it all day long and then tried to sleep in it.

We were so thrilled when the other night Seth went on the potty!! Ella had just finished her business and Seth went over and started pointing at the potty. I finally figured out that he wanted to sit on it. I brought our little potty up from the basement and he sat on it. I gave him m&m's for staying on it and kept reading him stories. After about 10 minutes he went! We cheered and danced around and he was so proud of himself. I'm just not sure what to do next. I think I will go full force with it once the holidays are over.

Ella has decided to become an inventor. She has noticed that I am always looking around for pens. One night while I was sitting down feeding Seth, she started tying a ribbon to my belt loop. I thought nothing of it and kept feeding Seth. After she had been working for a while I looked down and Ella handed me the pen that was hooked to the ribbon and said "Now you will always have a pen mommy!" We are so proud!!

A few weeks before the pen invention Ella thought of another useful invention. There was a fly in our house and it was driving Ella crazy. We tried to catch it with a fly swatter. We tried to shoo it out the door. We couldn't get rid of it! Then Ella said "I know! I am going to get a piece of paper and put some glue on it and then the fly will get stuck in it!" Yes, our daughter invented fly paper but just a little too late.

Here is the sweetest most agreeable little boy in the world. He is 15 months old and is talking like crazy. He mimics everything Ella says. The other night Ella was pretending to be Santa. She went around the house saying "Ho Ho Ho!" and he did it too. He is such a good eater. He enjoys anything and everything palatable. He usually is a very tidy eater except when we have lasagna. I have to immediately throw him in the tub because he manages to get it in every crevice of his body. How does it get in his diaper? I don't know, nor do I want to. He loves his big sister more than anything and loves to give her hugs and play with her and she is usually very sweet to him in return.

She is brilliant! And I'm only a second cousin! I'm going to be in Utah for another week. If you get a chance, I'd like to see you. I'm carless though...
