Easter and Jesus egg hunting

This year we have been making an extra effort to teach Ella about Christ and the Scriptures with more detail. We have a flannel board with all the Bible stories which we pretty much break out on a daily basis. We have been surprised how curious and thoughtful Ella has been through all the lessons. She remembers everything we tell her and finds application for the new info constantly. While taking the sacrament a few weeks ago Ella exclaimed "I'm thinking about Jesus' body and blood!" The sentiment is there but we need to work on the reverence a bit. A few days ago Rob was explaining that it would be warm soon and we could go swimming. Ella was excited and said " I can teach Buster how to plug his nose and go under water and then he can be in Jesus' church!"

With the Easter holiday we have been focusing on the final week of Jesus' life and the resurrection. Ella has really enjoyed it and has had many questions. The day before we went to my parents house for our annual Easter brunch and egg hunt we were reviewing the events of Jesus' last week. I told her that it was Good Friday when we remember the crucifixion and I asked what are we going to do tomorrow? Ella replied "We are going to hunt for Jesus eggs!" We had a good laugh but it opened up a good discussion on the symbolism of eggs.

Easter brunch at mom and dad's house with the crew-minus Rachel who was taking the picture. Very delicious! Also a congratulations to Chelsea and Chad on their engagement. June 19th!

At 7 1/2 months old Seth is a champion eater. In a one on one eating contest between Ella and him my money's on Seth. During this meal he enjoyed a whole banana, some waffle, and some scrambled eggs.

One more picture because just look at that face!! He has that full tummy glow about him.

Ella gathered up a bunch of decorative bunnies from around the house and gave them a good nap. She told us all to be quiet so we wouldn't wake them.

That evening after the egg hunt-which was indoor this year due to horrible weather-we colored eggs. My mom found this kit that had little outfits, hats and faces to put on the eggs. Can you guess which one was Ella's favorite-yes, the princess. We also discovered that Ella loves to eat hard boiled eggs.
