Jungle Jims

Aunt Amy, Uncle Richard and Cousin Caleb are here visiting from California. Amy had the brilliant idea of taking the kids to Jungle Jims, an indoor play center with amusement park rides. Nana was kind enough to come along and help with the kids, and spoil them. Isn't that what Grandparents are supposed to do?

Our first ride and one of the most popular rides was the carousel. I think Caleb rode it about 15 times, Ella only a few less. Ella kept switching horses after each ride. I think she wanted to ride every horse on the thing. The kid operating the ride was my favorite. The look on his face said it all... "I can't believe I am working HERE." It got even better after each carousel ride finished and we said "Looks like we're going again." We would get the eye roll and then he would start it back up.

Next we did a swing ride. It was similar to the "turn of the century" ride at lagoon, but on a much smaller (and slower) scale. At first they were a little unsure when we left them to ride it on their own but after a few seconds they couldn't have cared where we were.

This ride was like the teacups at Disneyland but made you even dizzier. The employee would spin you a little more each time you came around unless you opted not to. Ella opted for it, enough said.

Ah yes the airplane ride. They had a lever that if you held up your airplane would go higher. Ella spent the first 3 minutes of the ride jiggling it around trying to figure out what it did. When she finally figured it out they began going up and down and up and down. Caleb started looking at Ella then looking at the ground and looking at his mom and then again at Ella. We were joking that it was almost as if he was coming up with an escape plan. "If Ella gets really out of control could I jump out of here and have my mom catch me?" Luckily it didn't come to that.

These little jeeps were cute. They went around on a circular track with a little tunnel half way around. The first time they came out of the tunnel Caleb had this priceless look on his face like "ok good, you guys are still there".

I had to throw this picture in because it is so cute. Somebody loves Aunt Amy. Seth was wonderful as usual. He enjoyed all the colored lights, moving objects and children plus his adoring fans. He is still working on getting those teeth in. He chomps on anything that comes near his mouth.

This video is of Ella, Nana and Caleb playing a dinosaur video game. Ella got so into it that Amy and Nana decided to put some tokens in and let her actually play it. She loved it so much she would get so excited while playing it that she would have to stop for a minute and run around screaming about the dinosaurs and then come back to finish.

This next video is my absolute favorite. Ella did not want to go on the bumper cars at first becuase she "didn't want to get bonked" and seeing as how that is the goal of the ride we figured it wasn't a good fit. A little while later she decided that she wanted to try it. She got in her car and apparently lost all concept of steering and started spinning around in circles. She didn't enjoy it and made this point very clear until the ride was stopped so that her majesty could exit her car.

Your new blog layout is very cool. And did I mention that your writing is fun to read?

Thanks for these--I am excited for Mike to get to catch up on all this when he gets home.
